Most builders will agree that the foundation is the most important part of any construction. RW OWENS HOMES has an engineered foundation that is superior to traditional slab foundations. Slab foundations are notorious for settling problems. One of the largest businesses in West Texas is repairing slab foundations which can cost the homeowner thousands of dollars. RW OWENS HOMES foundations are built with 12” concrete columns placed 4 feet deep into the ground, every 8 feet around the perimeter to lock in and support the reinforced concrete foundation. This process to most builders seems extreme, but this is just one more of many features that we believe our customers deserve.
Of course we did not stop there, to maximize the energy efficiency of our homes we build them from the inside out. The advantage is that all electrical plugs, switches, and plumbing can be sealed, making the home extremely air tight, so tight that we had to put a controlled ventilation system in. This is so much better than a house that leaks air because of poor building techniques. We also construct the exterior walls with 2x6 studs instead of the typical 2x4 studs. Not only does this create a stronger built home but also allows R-19 insulation to be installed. We also included double pain, low “E” vinyl coated windows. When all these features are put together, you end up with an extremely energy efficient home that is “Star Energy” rated.
All RW OWENS HOMES have the option of brick or a combination of brick and lap siding. The siding is not vinyl or even wood. This siding is made from real concrete. It will never rot, its non-combustible, will not shrink or swell when wet and termites will break their teeth on it.
On the interior we kept going to provide your home with such features such as ½” textured sheetrock with rounded corners. We also put ceramic edging on all counter top with a ceramic backsplash. Also, we included high grade 25 ½ oz carpet with ½ inch rebound padding.
In the Kitchen we included oak cabinets, GE dishwasher, stove and microwave vent-a-hood, ceiling fans throughout each home even on the porch.
